Honda’s retreat from 100% EV by 2040 into more hybrids is a losing trade—hybrids keep gas complexity without meaningful EV-only range.

Honda is withdrawing its 100% electric-by-2040 goal as “not realistic,” instead targeting net-carbon neutrality by 2050 via hybrid powertrains.
