This makes sense to me because they have a repository of their own exclusive images, and if they can evaluate those images and offer this service to customers, it will allow them to generate revenue with a higher profit margin and a greater competitive advantage.

Governments are telling Planet Labs that they urgently need to secure sovereign access to space, understand threats in and around their region, and modernize their defense capabilities.

This has led to a huge increase in demand for Planet Labs' services in its regions.

Its revenues from Europe, the Middle East and Africa rose by triple digits compared to the same quarter last year.
